Background
The Divsion of Agriculture, formerly the Department of Agriculture, fulfills mandates of the state and provides regulatory
services to the county. The division serves local businesses, protects public health and the environment, and promotes a
wholesome and ample food supply. The County Agricultural Commissioner directs the division enforcement programs. The division's
primary enforcement tasks are to regulate pesticide use, to ensure a wholesome food supply, and to prevent the introduction
of destructive insects, plant diseases, and weeds into the county.
