Description
The collection consists of incoming correspondence and postcards to Thomas from 1935-1961, personal ephemera (including such items as the judge's address book, personal notes, business card file, and mementos) and photographs.
Background
Gerald C. Thomas was born in 1897 in Toronto, Canada. He attended Stanford University, was an attorney in San Diego in the 1930's, then served as a superior court judge in San Diego County during the 1940's and 1950's. He was an active member of the community, serving as a volunteer for the Community Chest Committee of San Diego, the Volunteer Bureau, and the Cuyamaca Club. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in San Diego.
