1985 Published Master's Thesis "American Nazism in the Context of the American Extreme Right, 1960-1978" (University of Sydney)
1991 Convicted for being an accessory in an attack on Eddie Funde, a member of the African National Congress, served three years in prison
1999 Published dissertation "The Other Radicalism: An Inquiry into Contemporary Australian Extreme Right Ideology, Politics, and Organization, 1975-1995" (University of Sydney). Received PhD in Politics from the University of Sydney
2002-2007 Served as Secretary of the Australia First Party, Sydney branch
2013 As part of the Australia First Party, unsuccessfully ran for a seat in federal elections in the Cook division of New South Wales

Scope and Content of Collection

Periodicals, pamphlets, circulars, flyers, newsletters, and clippings, relating to neo-Nazi, white supremacist, and other far right political organizations in Australia, the United States, and Europe between the years 1968 and 1991. Includes the Master's thesis by Jim Saleam, "American Nazism in the Context of the American Extreme Right, 1960-1978" (University of Sydney, 1985).

Arrangement Statement

The collection is arranged into three different series. The Writings series is organized chronologically and consists of pamphlets that Saleam wrote and published. The Subject File series contains clippings, flyers, posters, and ephemera from far right, neo-Nazi, nationalist, and white supremacist groups. The majority of the folder titles are creator-supplied. Lastly, the Printed Matter series is arranged into sub-series by periodical country of origin and alphabetically within each sub-series.
