Description
Personal papers, graphic design materials, and artifacts, 1998 to 1992, reflecting William Struzenberg's involvement in ACT/UP San Francisco and ACT/UP Golden Gate.
Background
William Struzenberg (May 12, 1965 - April 6, 1998) was a graphic design artist. He died in 1998 of an AIDS-related illness. Struzenberg also directed several gay pornographic films. His photography was exhibited in galleries in Santa Cruz among other places in the Bay Area. He designed many protest signs, stickers and posters, for AIDS activist groups, clubs and other queer-oriented events. Struzenberg was a member of ACT/UP Golden Gate and ACT NOW.
