Description
This collection comprises the research files and manuscript of Leonard C. Moffitt, campus-community planner at the University of California, Irvine, and author of several books about community and urbanization in Orange County and elsewhere. Included are interviews with many prominent political figures and community leaders from Orange County, survey questionnaires, statistical data, maps, clippings from local newspapers, and publications from local business and associations. Also included is correspondence with the UC Irvine chancellor and administrators, employees of the Irvine Company, and city and county officials from Orange County.
Background
Leonard Caum Moffitt was the campus-community planner at the University of California, Irvine, (1962-1965) as well as the author of several books about the planning of communities including the UC Irvine campus, the city of Irvine and Orange County, California.
