Oral histories conducted by Kathryn Ringrose and sponsored by the Mandeville Special Collections Library of various persons
involved with the establishment and development of the University of California, San Diego in the early 1960s. The interviews
were conducted as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the University's founding. Interviewees include California Governor
Edmund (Pat) Brown, former UC President Clark Kerr, former UC Regent DeWitt A. Higgs, former Chancellors Herbert York and
John Galbraith, and faculty James Arnold, Robert Hamburger, Roy Harvey Pearce, Roger Revelle, and John Stewart.
