Description
Jackie Cooper has worked both in front of and behind the camera. He has had a successful film and television career. The collection consists of scripts from a variety of television productions as well as a small collection of motion picture scripts and manuscript pages from chapters of Cooper's autobiography.
Background
John Cooper, Junior was born in Los Angeles, California on September 15, 1921. As one of Hollywood's most popular child stars (1930s), he appeared in films such as The Champ (1931), The Bowery (1933), and Treasure Island (1934). In the 1940s, he started a successful television career as actor, producer, director, and executive and served as vice president in charge of TV program production at Columbia Pictures (1964-69). The winner of two Emmys, Cooper's numerous television credits include The People's Choice, The White Shadow, and M*A*S*H. He retired in 1989, though continued to contribute to the entertainment industry.
