Scope and Contents

Materials relating to Pierre Koenig's individual buildings and projects comprise this series. These materials fall into four broad categories: general documentation, architectural drawings, photographic documentation, and press coverage and promotional materials. The general documentation varies, but may include correspondence, notes and calculations, small original drawings, schematics, receipts and invoices, permit applications, copies of deed and title records, sub-contractor information and the occassional press clipping. The architectural drawings include plans, elevations, sections, details, and perspective drawings, both originals and reproductions. The reproductions of drawings are in a variety of formats including diazotypes, photostats, electrostatic prints and photographic prints. The photographic documentation ranges from construction photographs to recent photographs recording the current state of a structure. Press coverage and promotional materials include magazine and newspaper articles, advertisements and promotional brochures featuring Koenig's work, real estate listings, and publicity brochures for awards.

The dates presented below are project dates taken from Koenig's records, but the documentation for each project may include earlier and later materials. The documentation of some projects includes articles published long after the completion of the project, and even after Koenig's death, attesting to the continuing legacy of his work.

Desktop DX-P. The software used to create the original DXF files is unknown. Microsoft Word 97-2003 files were converted to pdf using Microsoft office 2013. Macintosh PICT Image, version 2 files were converted to jpeg format using Irfan View.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements

Disc18 contains 15 MiniCAD drawings and one unidentified files. Reference files and working copy derivatives cannot be generated at this time for these file types due to lack of required software.
