Abstract: Warner Lincoln Marsh (b.1899) was a landscape architect for the Los Angeles City Park Department (1925) before starting his
private practice as a planning consultant and landscape architect. In addition to his private practice, he was employed as
a research director for the Los Angeles County Department of Rehabilitation (1935-36), and as deputy director for the California
State Department of Natural Resources (1940-43). The collection consists of correspondence, drawings, blueprints, notes, clippings
and printed material reflecting Marsh's career as a landscape architect and planning consultant.

Biography
Warner Lincoln Marsh was born on February 12, 1899 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; attended Morningside College, 1917-21; he began
his career as a landscape draftsman in Nebraska and Iowa; began working as a landscape architect for the Los Angeles City
Park Department in 1925; in addition to his private practice as a planning consultant and landscape architect, he was employed
as a research director for the Los Angeles County Department of Rehabilitation (1935-36), and as deputy director for the California
State Department of Natural Resources (1940-43); published,
Landscape vocabulary (1964).
Scope and Content
Collection consists of correspondence, drawings, blueprints, notes, clippings and printed material reflecting Marsh's career
as a landscape architect and planning consultant. Correspondence includes five letters from Richard J. Neutra.
