Correspondence, lists, brochures, and financial records pertaining to the establishment of the Cottrell Memorial Fund, which
supports an annual prize awarded to a political science student. Correspondents include S. Smith Griswold, Fay Hamilton Jones,
Victoria Schuck, Eleanor Davidson Severance, Clarence E. Thurber, James S. Triolo, and Richard Van Wagenen.
Background
Cottrell was professor of political science at Stanford from 1919 to 1947, head of the department from 1927 to 1945, and also
served two years as Dean of the School of Social Sciences.
