Biography / Administrative History

Robert Noyce was a Silicon Valley pioneer who participated in the invention of the microchip. He was part of the first successful semiconductor corporation, Fairchild Semiconductor, and went on to be one of the founders of Intel. After his death in 1990, the Noyce Foundation was named by his estate.

Scope and Content of Collection

Many personal materials, including family history, and material from childhood and academic career. Also included are documents and materials from Noyce's work at Shockley Semiconductor, Fairchild Semiconductor, Intel, and the Semiconductor Industry Association. Also includes 24 video tapes, 1 reel to reel tape, and numerous newsclippings.
