ca. 1850s-early 1900s. Documents and correspondence concerning Henry Erastus Noyes, George W. Wallace, and George W. Wallace, Jr., all soldiers in the U.S. Army. Also includes Noyes' 1861 photo album and other material relating to West Point, his 107 pp. typescript "The Story of My Life,' photographs and 2 holographic maps. Papers concern the Civil War, the Indian campaigns, the Boxer Rebellion, and the Philippine Insurrection. Noyes was a Congressional Medal of Honor winner. Includes commissions signed by Presidents Tyler, Fillmore, Lincoln, Grant, Hayes, McKinley, Roosevelt, and Taft. 2 lin. ft (2 boxes). Gift of Lois Scott.
