Scope and Content of Collection

The Office of Budget and Planning, formerly a division of the Chancellor's Office called the Office of Planning and Analysis, is responsible for several different areas of campus administration, handled by five subdivisions: the Budget Office, Capital Development Office, Institutional Research & Planning, Academic Program Review and the Real Estate Office.
See the Office of Budget and Planning website for more information: http://bap.ucsb.edu/index.html

Arrangement

The collection is divided into four series:
Series I, Institutional Research, contains mainly reports on student statistics such as SAT scores, ethnic/gender surveys, the admissions process, etc. Files are arranged alphabetically.
Series II, Campus Planning, contains Long Range Development Plans (LRDPs) and plans for specific projects, including Ward Memorial Boulevard and the Sea Water Laboratory. Arranged by subject and chronologically.
Series III, Capital Planning & Budget, contains primarily Operating Budget and Major Capital Improvement reports.
