Biographical/Historical note

David Stoddard Atwood was born July 27, 1896 in Kansas City, Missouri. He earned an A.B. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University in 1923. While attending Stanford, Atwood participated in several dramatic theater organizations including the Sword and Sandals Society and the Masquer’s Society, and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

Scope and Contents

Materials document Atwood's student experience at Stanford University between 1919 and 1923. Items include correspondence, photographs, theater programs, items related to Alpha Tau Omega, and Senior Week and commencement related material. Also included is a biography of Atwood excerpted from a book written by Kay Atwood.
