Background
George Allen Collier (1942-) and Jane Fishburne Collier (1940-) are emeriti professors of Cultural and Social Anthropology at Stanford University. Their interests primarily lay in the Central American anthropology, especially the Tzotzil Mayan population. Jane Collier conducted significant field work in Chiapas, Mexico analyzing gender and kinship.
