Biography / Administrative History

Leslie Berlin received her Ph.D. in History from Stanford in 2001. She is currently (2005) a visiting scholar in the Program in the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology. She is also the Project Historian for the Silicon Valley Archives at Stanford.

Scope and Content of Collection

The collection consists of photographs, transcripts and audiotapes of interviews, speeches given by Noyce and others, and background research on the history of the micro-chip industry and the growth of Silicon Valley. Broken down into 8 series, the material includes information on individual corporations that Noyce helped found or managed, including Fairchild Seimconductor and Intel.
