Scope and Contents note

This series includes documents used as research materials specifically for this book. These materials include reports, memoranda, dispatches, and printed matter relating to the complex relations between the United States and Israel from 1948 to the publication of the book in 1988. This series also includes correspondence related to accumulation of the research. Also included are photocopies of U.S. Government documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act and related correspondence. This series has been arranged into three subseries: Chapter Drafts, Documents Used and Notes, and General Research Materials. Chapter Drafts and Documents Used and Notes have been arranged by specific chapter or range of chapters. General Research Materials have been arranged according the original order as acquired when the donation of the collection was made. Materials related to this series can also be found in the Oversize File series.
