Scope and Content of Collection

The collection contains 98 mainly black and white photographs, including cabinet cards, cartes de visité, picture postcards, snapshots, a stereocard, and tintypes, loose and in a partially dissembled album. The photographs may have been compiled by Mrs. Percy W. [Georgie] Stebbins, who lived in several California locations, and who is the recipient of several of the postcards. The album contains images of rural/farm scenes, residential streets, children, young adults, palm trees, parade, early 20c automobiles; locations include Los Angeles and Visalia. Also, loose photographs of the Bower, Childs, Eakin, Lavelle, and Lloyd families, as well as other unidentified possible family members; and commercial photographs from firms in California (including Berkeley, Tulare, and Ventura), Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, and Vermont.
