Scope and Contents note

Eight posters from Howard D. Kramer's employment in Manila, Philippines. Three posters are in the Hoover poster collection: "America challenged! The Philippines Accepted!" (US-3762); "East Asia Our Happy Home" (JA-95); and "Warning - Imperial Japanese Forces" (JA-67). Of the remaining five, three are small United States Army signs and warnings: "DANGER OF MINES AHEAD, TAKE CARE IN PASSING," "DEADLY VENOMOUS SNAKES RAMPANT, TAKE CARE IN PASSING THROUGH JUNGLES," and "COMPANY HEADQUARTERS U.S. ARMY." The remaining two posters are a print by Alfredo Carmelo and his lithograph company, Carmelo & Bauermann, Inc., based in Manila, Philippines; and a Martial Law Proclamation by Philippine President Jose P. Laurel.
