Abstract: Sylvia Ruby Pezoldt (1895-1963) was a journalist, poet, and author of short stories, and non-fiction. She also conducted writing courses and was a member of the National League of American Pen Women. The collection consists of Pezoldt's manuscripts, correspondence, photographs, journals, scrapbooks, clippings, and a travel diary (1952-53). The collection also contains copies of her magazine articles and columns, published poems, personal publicity information, materials relating to writing guidelines and children's magazines, and publications of the National League of American Pen Women (1957-64).

Biography

Sylvia Ruby Thompson was born on July 4, 1895 in Kansas; married Albert R. Pezoldt; became a journalist with the Colorado Springs gazette; wrote children's poems, short stories, and non-fiction; conducted writing courses and was a member of the National League of American Pen Women; she died in August 1963.

Scope and Content

Collection consists of manuscripts, correspondence, photographs, journals, scrapbooks, clippings, and a travel diary (1952-53) of writer Sylvia R. Pezoldt. Includes a collection of her magazine articles and columns, published poems in various journals, personal publicity information, poetry and other manuscripts, materials relating to writing guidelines and children's magazines, a photograph album (1945-47), copies of the journal Pen woman (1951-52), and publications of the National League of American Pen Women (1957-64). Also contains some biographical material.
