Scope and Content of Collection
"Since its founding in 1987 the Interdisciplinary Humanities Center (IHC) has supported interdisciplinary scholarship in the
humanities, the performing and visual arts, and humanistic social sciences. The Center's fellowships, research focus groups,
and public events enrich the cultural and intellectual life of the campus and promote innovative research and teaching.
"The Center is committed to advancing the place of the humanities in a public university and to fostering a spirit of free
inquiry and expression. By hosting a wide array of interdisciplinary programs and activities, the IHC serves as a vital link
between the campus and the community, and to the University as a whole through the UC Consortium of Humanities Centers and
the UC Humanities Network."
The collection contains mainly flyers and calendars for IHC-sponsored events and lectures, as well as brochures and memos,
arranged alphabetically.
