Biography
Samuel S. Smyth, during the Civil War, was a captain in the Illinois Light Artillery, 1st Regiment (Vol.) Battery F. For information

Scope and Content of Collection
The collection contains originals and photostats of correspondence and journals, 1862-1864. There also is a microfilm copy,
