Abstract: Frederick George Nichols (1878-1954) served as the state supervisor of commercial education for the New York State Educational Department (1909-11) before becoming a professor of education (1922-44) and emeritus professor at Harvard University. The collection consists of memoirs relating to Nichols' career as a professor of business education at Harvard University.

Biography

Nichols was born on March 18, 1878 in Avon, New York; served as state supervisor of commercial education, New York State Educational Department, 1909-11; became associate professor of education (1922-44) and emeritus professor, Harvard University; he died on June 1, 1954.

Collection consists of memoirs, 799 pages of typescript (carbon copy) with holograph corrections and additions, relating to the career of Frederick Nichols, professor of business education at Harvard University The memoirs have been published as Frederick G. Nichols' memoirs, 1878-1954: the early view of business education (1979).
