Scope and Content
The collection consists of nineteen Iranian manuscripts and three rare printed works, dating from the late Safawid to the
late Qajar periods. The subjects of the items vary from science and medicine to history, literature, religion, and grammar.
Of particular scholarly interest is a rare Persian translation of an unidentified Turkish commentary on Maulana Jalal al-Din
Rumi's Maṣnavῑ, and an original Persian-language biography on Napolean Bonaparte. Published works have been
included in the finding aid; in addition, full catalog records for these books can be found in the UCLA Library online catalog
by performing a keyword search on the phrase, "Noyan Garemani collection" in the UCLA Library catalog.
