CSU faculty, including professors, lecturers, counselors, librarians, and coaches.
Background
The California Faculty Association (CFA) (formerly Congress of Faculty Association) is the union for the faculty working at
all 23 California State University (CSU) campuses, including professors, lecturers, librarians, counselors, and coaches. In
1978 the State Employer-Employee Relations Act was passed in California, allowing for union representation of state employees
and in 1982 CFA was voted to be the exclusive bargaining agent for CSU faculty, beating out the United Professors of California
(UPC).
