Biographical/Historical Sketch

Physicist. Excelling in both theoretical and experimental physics, Bloch won the Nobel Prize in 1952 for his work in nuclear magnetism. Bloch was a member of the Physics Department at Stanford University from 1934 until his death in 1983.
