Abstract: The bulk of the Bayard Stockton collection relates to Stockton's book
Catapult: The Biography of Robert A. Monroe (1989) and contains drafts of the manuscript, correspondence, and material about Monroe and the Monroe Institute. There are
some files relating to Stockton's unpublished work
Lift Off! Robert Monroe's Gateway... and Beyond, as well as a few files on other aspects of the New Age movement. There also is a sizeable collection of audiotapes, many
issued by the Monroe Institute, as well as some non-commercial tapes of interviews, conversations, and reflections by people
associated with the Monroe Institute.

Scope and Content of Collection
The bulk of the collection relates to Stockton's book
Catapult: The Biography of Robert A. Monroe (1989) and contains drafts of the manuscript, correspondence, and material about Monroe and the Monroe Institute. There are
some files relating to Stockton's unpublished work
Lift Off! Robert Monroe's Gateway... and Beyond, as well as a few files on other aspects of the New Age movement. There also is a sizeable collection of audiotapes, many
issued by the Monroe Institute, as well as some non-commercial tapes of interviews, conversations, and reflections by people
associated with the Monroe Institute. The Monroe Institute tapes have been cataloged separately and can be searched on Pegasus,
the UCSB Libraries online catalog.
A copy of
Catapult has been cataloged separately and may be searched on Pegasus. Stockton also is author of
Phoenix with a Bayonet: A Journalist's Interim Report on the Greek Revolution (1971). Copies of
Catapult and
Phoenix are housed in Special Collections.
Robert A. Monroe's publications include
Journeys Out of the Body (1971), a copy of which is in Special Collections.
