Abstract: Open reel tape recordings of the
"Annals of Jazz" radio program produced and hosted by historian and educator Richard
Hadlock, broadcast on KCSM, San Mateo between 1982 and 1991. The interviews in the
collection feature many Jazz luminaries at the peak of their careers and have on occasion
been broadcast on KCSM. Lastly, Richard Hadlock was also an active musical performer on reed
instruments, many of the live music recordings in this collection feature him.

The Richard Hadlock Annals of Jazz Collection was donated to the Stanford Archive of
Recorded Sound by Richard Hadlock in October 2006. The artist interviews and live
performance recordings were donated in July 2021.
