Scope and Content of Collection
The Arthur and Kit Knight Beat Collection is comprised of manuscript material, photographs, magazines, booklets and ephemera
relating to the Beats and Beat History. Most of the items in the collection are publications issued and edited by the Knights.
Arthur and Kit Knight have independently published numerous poems and works of fiction. Together they have edited eight volumes
dealing with the Beat Generation, including
Kerouac and the Beats (1988), The
Beat Vision (1987), and
Beat Angels (1982). Unless otherwise indicated, "signed" refers to either Arthur or Kit Knight or both.
