Description
This folder contains several dance cards and invitations to balls from 1849-1867 and undated, envelopes from real estate offices
and the pension office of the U.S. Department of the Interior, letters of correspondence regarding pension matters, an Aetna
insurance policy, and two legal documents relating to California properties.
Background
De Merritt lived in Sacramento County in 1869. By 1870 he was living in Humboldt County and purchased farmland in Eureka.
