Description
Chula Vista Public Library's John Rojas Photograph Collection includes images of historical interest of Chula Vista and other areas of San Diego County from the late 1880's to 1976. Images document commercial, residential and public buildings, including businesses and restaurants (notably downtown Third Avenue), the fire department, theaters (such as the Seville and Vogue), schools and the public library; street scenes; neighborhoods; significant individuals including Greg Rogers and the Peters family; groups and family portraits; and annual events, such as the Fiesta de la Luna. Formats include panoramic and aerial photographs. Photographs primarily document city life and commercial activities. Of particular interest are a large group of photographs of the citrus and aircraft industry in Chula Vista.
