Description
The collection contains correspondence to relatives, diaries, document (honorable discharge from the GAR), and artifacts (spoon/fork/knife eating utensil, oak leaf clusters, and a GAR pin).
Background
Webster P. Blodgett (1833-1911) was born in Plymouth, New Hampshire and enlisted as Private in the Union Army's 18th Regiment of the New Hampshire Infantry Volunteers, on Sept. 7, 1864. He served and was discharged on June 10, 1865. He returned to New Hampshire and settled on a farm in Oxford after completing his service.
