Gift of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, 1997, and administrative transfer from the Planning Office, 1998.

Biographical/Historical note

The Stanford Language Center is located in Building 30 in Stanford's Main Quad. The building has undergone historic renovation in light of the incredible damage sustained during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Its restoration provides the best example of early California architecture and furnishings on the Stanford campus.

Scope and Contents note

Collection contains black and white images taken during renovations by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, 1995; color slides and prints of the finished renovations taken by David Wakely, 1997; and reproduction of historic images used for display in the building.
