Description
Administrative correspondence of the directors and of various branch offices; files of the Lecture and Correspondence Departments; files relating to various programs and to the use of television in education.
Background
Two University of California Presidents, Edward S. Holden and Horace Davis, had urged the creation of extension before the fall of 1891, when the first extension course, The Tragedies of Shakespeare, was presented in San Francisco.
