Vernon, Iowa; attended Drew Theological Seminary; M.A. University of Chicago; Ph.D. University of Wisconsin; Lecturer, Washington State College; Instructor, University of Pennsylvania; Expert Agent, United States Bureau of Labor; Director, Missouri School of Social Economy, University of Missouri; Lecturer in Summer Sessions of Iowa State University, Emory University, University of Omaha, University of California, Berkeley and Los Angeles; Professor of Sociology and Social Work, 1928-1946, University of Southern California; Visiting Professor, George Pepperdine College, Los Angeles; Member of Executive Committee of Los Angeles Metropolitan Welfare Board and Los Angeles County Probation Committee. Died May 11, 1962 in Los Angeles.
