Description
Collection includes programs from ASSU concerts, 1938; sheet music of four hits from the Big Game Gaieties, n.d.; programs, photographs, and a newsletter of her sorority Chi Omega, 1937-38; Student Handbook, 1937; and programs from the 1938 commencement week, including the Senior Week booklet.
Background
Virginia Juliet Smith earned her A.B. in political science at Stanford in 1938; during her senior year she was manager of the ASSU Concert Series. She married fellow Stanford student Andrew McGue Spears, who earned his A.B. in economics in 1936 and his LL.B. in 1939.
