Biography
Elbert Hubbard was born in IL, June 19, 1856; left school at the age of 15; honorary MA, Tufts College (1899); founded Roycrofters
in East Aurora, NY, 1895; the Roycroft Shops printed and published books and magazines, and made book bindings, furniture,
and small household objects; Hubbard was also an author and lecturer; he died along with his wife Alice, aboard the British
Steamship Lusitania, May 7, 1915.
