Description
The collection documents local economic conditions, education, the environment, public works, recreation, schools, social conditions, and social service agencies. It includes correspondence, memoranda, Board of Directors meeting minutes, financial statements, and grant proposals.
Background
The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) began in New York City during the mid-1960s as a local program for regular voluntary service by older citizens in hospitals, schools, and businesses. The San Diego Chapter received its first grant in 1971.

The copyright interests in some of these materials have been transferred to or belong to San Diego State University.
