Series 7. France, Italy, Denmark circa 1950

Physical Description: circa 500 negatives, circa 200 photographic prints, and one album

Arrangement

The majority of entries in this listing are derived from and arranged by original subject dividers found with the negatives. All materials are un-numbered. This list is not a folder by folder guide to containers. When both negatives and prints exist an attempt has been made at the folder level to indicate the extent to which they correspond to each other.
Material stored in: PIC box 4-5; fALB vol. 7; NEG box 1.

Scope and Contents

The bulk of this series is believed to be related to The Friendship Chain, taken in France. Almost all photographs are of small groups engaged in social or leisure activities. Many American military servicemen (soldiers) are pictured with European hosts. Some are of children only (girls in ballet class, boys fishing, etc.)

Series 16. Portrait File circa 1924-1950

Physical Description: circa 2,000 photographic prints, circa 1,000 negatives

Arrangement

Arranged by library alphabetically by name of subject. For each individual, prints were given "POR" (i.e. Portrait File) numbers by the library, housed in binders, and shelved as the Bonney Portrait Files, following the general Bancroft Library Portrait Files.
Material stored in: POR box 1-6; AX box 1; B box 3; C box 1, 3-4; OBJ; various negative boxes (for specifics, see notes under each individual listed below.)

Scope and Contents

Includes prints and negatives constituting the Therese Bonney Portrait File. These materials were segregated from other parts of the collection and housed as the Portrait File many years prior to full collection processing. In some cases materials in the Bonney Portrait File have corresponding or related materials in other series and have been cross referenced; see Notes field for locations of materials in other series. Only material arranged and housed as Series 16 is given box location information under Series 16. When possible, related logbook listings and original (non "POR") item numbers are noted in this listing in order to provide context.
