Administrative History
Howard L. Dorn & Sons, originally called Keenan & Dorn, were commercial printers located at 1192-1194 East Colorado Blvd.
in Pasadena, California from 1936 until 1978.
Howard L. Dorn, a lifelong resident of Pasadena, is listed as a salesman for the Pasadena Stationery & Printing Co. in the
Pasadena city directories from 1916 until 1935. From 1936 until 1947 or 1948, he was associated with Eugene C. Keenan at Keenan
& Dorn Printers & Stationers. In 1949, Dorn's sons Phillip H. and Richard E. are listed with their father under Howard L.
Dorn & Sons Creative Printing, Stationery, Office Supplies. Among their customers were many well-known Pasadena businesses,
such as Jurgensen's, J. Herbert Hall Jewellers, Vroman's, Bohman & Schwartz Coach Builders, professionals such as architect
Elmer Grey and builder E. C. Moller, and numerous churches, clubs, schools, automobile dealerships, and other organizations.
Howard L. Dorn died in 1981.

The Howard L. Dorn & Sons Collection consists of 6 folders of printer's proofs of logos, letterheads and other designs, and
several letters from clients. Most of the proofs are signed and dated.
