Administrative History
The College Women's Club of Pasadena was organized in May 1921. Meetings were held at
the Pasadena YWCA. As stated in the club's constitution, the purpose of the club is to
"promote the education of women, to strengthen the fellowship of the college women of
Pasadena, and to stimulate their continuous intellectual development."
In 1923 the club formed a Scholarship Committee to give loans to local students wishing
to attend college. In 1961 the structure of the organization changed with the formation
of the Scholarship Foundation, which was incorporated as a separate non-profit entity.
Since 1969 all awards have been fellowships or scholarships and loans are no longer
granted.
