Background
Rolfe G. Buzzell (1944 - ) was a UCSB graduate student at the time of the Isla Vista disturbances in 1970. He lived in an apartment on Camino Pescadero in Isla Vista. On June 10, 1970, the night of the Perfect Park riot, police officers broke into Buzzell's apartment in search of rioters. Buzzell was beaten and arrested. He claimed that he was not involved in the riots and offered no resistance to the officers. Subsequent charges against Buzzell were dropped, but he suffered medical problems as a result of the beating.
