Biography/History
Burnett was born Apr. 26, 1933, in San Antonio, TX; gained popularity as a regular on the Garry Moore television show (1950s);
she made her Broadway debut in the musical
Once upon a mattress (1959); she appeared in several television specials in the 1960s and went on to her own weekly television program
The Carol Burnett show; her screen credits include
Pete 'n' Tillie (1972),
The four seasons (1981), and
Annie (1982); she was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 1985.
Scope and Content
1. Orchestral scores and parts for musical numbers from Carol Burnett's television show, stage performances, and recordings
(ca. 1790 titles); most of the arrangements are for the Carol Burnett Show; also included is music from Once Upon a Mattress,
Carol Burnett and Martha Raye LP recording, Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett at Lincoln Center, and Greek Theatre (Los Angeles)
performances; most titles include a manuscript full score and ca. 22 parts. Includes many arrangements by Peter Matz and Harry
Zimmerman.
