Description
This collection consists primarily of scripts for radio and television shows and for television commercials (approximately
90 volumes) including "Dealer in Dreams" (radio, 1940-1941), "Murder is My Hobby" (radio, 1945), and "Queen for a Day" (television,
1952-1953). There are also approximately 23 disc recordings for commercial and radio spots and promotional materials for films
distributed by the Four Star Distribution Corporation and for "The Dick Powell Theatre" and "Queen for a Day" television shows.
Background
The Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters (PPB) was founded in 1966 by announcer Art Gilmore and 178 other original members, with Edgar
Bergen as the founding chairman of the board. PPB was founded to preserve the memory of West Coast broadcasting in the "golden
age" of radio.
