Background
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is a nationwide philanthropic network of over 1,000 local branches in
the United States whose membership is composed of college graduates. The mission of AAUW is "advancing equity for women and
girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research." AAUW local branches focus on community projects and programs,
funding fellowships and grants, and promoting science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education for girls.
