    Donated to History San Jose in 2008 by Ross Crump's niece as part of a larger family collection.

    Biography/Administrative History

    Ross Owen Crump was born in Michigan circa 1901, arriving in Santa Clara County at the age of 16. He attended San Jose High School and graduated from Stanford University in 1926. Crump was a member of the County Farm Bureau, the Prune and Apricot Growers Association, and a trustee of the Evergreen Soil and Conservation District. He died in June 1964, and is buried in Oak Hill Memorial Park.

    Scope and Content of Collection

    Papers of Santa Clara County's Ross Crump family, including a small amount of property records and financial records of the family's orchard operations. Includes letters from Shelley C. Crump to his future wife Josephine Eldridge (1892-1894), and property agreements and transactions between Shelley Crump and Catherine M. Sessarego for property in Willow Glen.
