Biography/Administrative History

The scrapbook was donated to CCCHS by the Lafayette Historical Society in 2015. The countywide crime prevention committee no longer exists, as many communities in the county now have their own crime prevention committees.

Scope and Content of Collection

The scrapbook includes newspaper clippings about the group’s founding and activities, reports and sign-in sheets from committee meetings, resolutions from city councils and the count board of supervisors, and photographs of some of the committee’s meetings. One of the photos shows then-State Attorney General George Deukmejian (later governor of California) with members of the group.
