by L. R. Paxton, possibly in the early 1880s. L. R. Paxton was a trader in northern Arizona in the early 1880s. His daughter
is Mrs. E. J. (Laura Paxton) Davies.

This is a small, bound notebook containing handwritten Navajo words arranged alphabetically with English equivalents, recorded
by L. R. Paxton, possibly in the early 1880s. A larger sheet of notes from English words to Navajo equivalent is tipped in
at the back.
