Biographical / Historical

Mischa Bakaleinikoff (1890-1960) was a Russian composer and musical director for Columbia Studios. His film composing career spanned from 1930 up to his death in 1960. Bakaleinikoff wrote the scores for many of Columbia Studios' westerns and dramas including: "The Big Heat" (1953), "Wagon Team" (1952), "Jane Eyre" (1934), "It Came from Beneath the Sea" (1955), and "Gun Fury" (1953).
