In addition to numerous works on psychiatry, he was the author of The church and cemetery records of Hanover, Mass. (Boston, Mass., Wallace Spooner, 1895-1904), History and genealogy of the Cabot family, 1475-1927 (Boston, C.E. Goodspeed & co., 1927), History and genealogy of the Briggs family, 1254-1937 (Boston, C. E. Goodspeed & co., 1938), and other works.
